Charter of the Socialist International Empty Charter of the Socialist International

Preamble,  The Charter of the Socialist International (otherwise known as “the Charter”) is the backbone of our goals, opportunity, and base for our ideology and brotherhood. This charter outlines the rights, duties, and responsibilities of the government, as well as the member nations in the Socialist International. All members of the Socialist International must abide by the laws and principles included in this charter.

Article I: Membership
Section I
1. Membership of the Socialist International is open to all leftist nations on Politics & War.
2. All members, in order to ensure the safety and growth of all nations in the Socialist International, must abide by the Charter.
3. All members of the Socialist International are obligated to participate in either defensive or offensive wars sanctioned by the government.

Section II - Applications
1. The application process shall be monitored by the Department of the Interior.
2. Applicants must fill out the application form thoroughly and completely.
3. Applicants must not be formerly or currently listed as a “class traitor” by the government of the Socialist International
4. Applicants must maintain an active profile on the off-site Socialist International forums.
5. Applicants must not be engaged in an active offensive conflict

Section III - Entrant
1. Upon being accepted into the Socialist International, the new member will receive the rank of Entrant.
2. The aspiring member will spend 5 days holding this rank; during those 3 days, the Entrant will spend time studying and learning about the Socialist International’s economic and political system, as well as Politics & War game mechanics.
3. Upon reaching 3 days of holding the rank of Entrant, the aspiring member will have to take a graduation test.
4. The aspiring member will need to achieve a passing grade of 80% or higher to become a full member of the Socialist International.
5. If an aspiring member does not receive a passing grade, they will be given an extra day to review the course material.
6. If the aspiring member does not achieve a passing grade on their second attempt at the graduation test, they will be removed from the Socialist International without question.

Section IV - Expulsion
1. Any member of the Socialist International may be expelled and/or punished to an extent for reasons including but not limited to:
2. Unauthorized raids against members of a top 50 alliance
3. Unauthorized raids against an ally
4. Feeding classified or otherwise “members-only” information to other alliances
5. Disobeying the orders of a superior
6. Desertion during a war
7. Breaking Discord and/or Forum rules
8. Misappropriating funds given by the government

Article II: The President of the Socialist International
Section I - The President of the Socialist International
The President of the Socialist International (otherwise known as “President”) is the leader of the Socialist International and the supreme commander of the SI Armed Forces. The President is the main spokesperson of the SI Council and all council members report to the President.

Section II - Powers
1. The President has the power to create or disband departments as necessary, other than those outlined in the Charter.
2. The President has the power to deny applying members
3. The President may call a vote to reverse a minister’s policy (⅔ supermajority to reverse)
4. The President has the power to declare someone a “Class Traitor”
5. The President has the power to hand out medals and ribbons

Section III - Duties
1. The President of the Socialist International must delegate when and how SI Council meetings are held
2. The President represents the Socialist International abroad, and must do so with a degree of effectiveness

Section IV - Term
1. The President of the Socialist International is elected for life
2. The President may be removed from office by a unanimous vote by the 4 other members of the SI Council
3. The President may step down from office whenever they wish

Article III: The Prime Minister of the SI Council:
Section I - The Prime Minister of the SI Council
The Prime Minister of the SI Council (otherwise known as “Prime Minister”), is the main representative of the SI Council as well as the President’s second-in-command.

Section II - Duties
1. The Prime Minister of the SI Council must assist the ministers as well as the President on their day-to-day tasks
2. The Prime Minister may call a vote to reverse a minister’s program (⅔ supermajority to reverse)
3. The Prime Minister has a duty to take the place of the President when the President is unable to play Politics & War or goes inactive
4. The Prime Minister, if delegated by the President, may take over as an interim spokesperson of the SI Council
5. The Prime Minister must work with council members as equals, providing guidance and ideas as needed by the ministers

Section III - Term
The Prime Minister is elected for life
1. The Prime Minister may be removed from office by a unanimous vote by the 4 other members of the SI Council
2. In the event that a Prime Minister is removed from office, the President will appoint a new Prime Minister within 1 week
3. The Prime Minister may step down from office whenever they wish

Article IV: The Council of the Socialist International
Section I - The Council of the Socialist International
The Council of the Socialist International (otherwise known as “the Council”) is the executive, legislative, and judicial body of the Socialist International. It is comprised of the President, the Prime Minister, and the ministers of each department.

Section II - Duties
1. The Council has the duty of reconfirming the President and Prime Minister’s term every 6 months
2. The Council must maintain active communication with the President and the Prime Minister
3. The Council has the duty of implementing new policies and laws
4. The Council must handle all judicial inquiries
4. The Council must report to the President as their superior officer
5. The Council must work with the Prime Minister as equals

Section III - Term
1. The Council is elected for life
2. Any council member may be removed from office by a unanimous vote by the other 4 council members
3. In the event that a council member is removed, immediate general elections must be held for that council position

Article V: The Department of Finance
Section I - The Department of Finance
The Department of Finance oversees alliance finances, growth, and development of member nations.

Section II - Duties
1. To give grants and funding to nations as outlined in the Grants guidelines
2. To create financial programs that will benefit the Socialist International

Article VI: The Department of Defense
Section I - The Department of Defense
The Department of Defense oversees the alliance’s military and war economy.

Section II - Duties
1. To provide war aid to members who are involved in an active sanctioned conflict
2. To create warchest guidelines that will suit the alliance’s needs
3. To organize war and raiding targets

Article VII: The Department of Internal Affairs
Section I - The Department of Internal Affairs
The Department of Internal Affairs oversees membership applications, membership tests, and elections.

Section II - Duties
1. To interview and decide whether or not an applicant is fit to join the Socialist International
2. To grade membership tests taken by members with the rank of Entrant
3. To provide a background check to aspiring members
4. To recruit new members into the Socialist International

Amendments
1. Amendments made to the Charter must be added through a unanimous vote of all council members
